Reviving Resilience: Al Bithnah

Al Bithna, -
Endangered Species

About the Event:

Join our co-founding partner Emirates Nature-WWF in Al Bithnah as we come together to address the significant impact left by recent extreme weather conditions. The aftermath of severe weather has visibly altered our environment, leaving scars on established sites and disrupting the delicate balance of the habitat.

In response, our focus in this activity will be on:

  • Rehabilitating the local community farm affected by flooding, followed by land leveling to restore agricultural activities.
  • Clearing Al Bithnah of debris and waste to restore its natural beauty and functionality post-extreme weather events.
  • Prepare and dig new pits for Shua trees in multiple areas and repairing the piped irrigation system to support vegetation growth.
  • Initiating the revival of Shua trees, renowned for their resilience in challenging desert conditions, to enhance ecosystem stability
  • Ensuring adequate irrigation water availability for newly planted saplings to promote their healthy growth.

This endeavor presents a unique opportunity for individuals to actively participate in the restoration of our local environment and the cultivation of resilient communities. Together, let us roll up our sleeves, unite our efforts, and make a lasting positive impact as we navigate through the aftermath of recent extreme weather challenges. Join us in Al Bithnah, and together, let's sow the seeds of renewal and resilience for a brighter future ahead.
