About the Event:
As we prepare to welcome the 2026 turtle nesting season, we invite you to join our Turtle Patrol Orientation Session!
This session is designed to equip new and returning volunteers with the knowledge and skills needed to responsibly monitor our beaches during nesting season. Participants will learn how to identify turtle tracks, distinguish between species, locate and assess potential nest sites, and understand the correct protocols for reporting and protecting nests.
We will also cover patrol guidelines, data collection procedures, health and safety considerations, and the critical role citizen scientists play in supporting marine conservation efforts in the UAE.
Whether you are new to turtle patrols or looking for a refresher, this orientation will ensure you are fully prepared to contribute meaningfully and responsibly throughout the season.
