In this session, we'll uncover the fascinating adaptations of these reptiles, including their nocturnal behavior, specialized toe pads for climbing, and remarkable desert camouflage!

We'll also shed light on the critical conservation efforts underway to safeguard their habitats. These efforts are pivotal in ensuring the resilience of these remarkable reptiles in the face of climate change!

ABOUT THE SERIES

This session is also part of a 10-session series, where you will explore the rich tapestry of life unique to the UAE, from the expansive desert sands to the hidden oases, freshwater habitats, and coastal regions, while understanding the intricate link between biodiversity and climate change!

Through expert-led discussions, you'll gain a deep understanding of the importance of biodiversity conservation, sustainable stewardship practices, and their role in mitigating climate change and preserving the UAE's natural heritage.

By attending a total of 7 sessions, you will receive a certificate of completion, recognizing your commitment to environmental education and conservation efforts in the region!

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

This session will be led by: Dr. Andrew Gardner FLS - Associate Director of Biodiversity Conservation, Emirates Nature–WWF

Dr. Andrew is a zoologist and ecologist with a life-long passion for conserving wild places and the species with which we share our planet.
