In this session, we'll shine a spotlight on iconic species like the Arabian Caracal, and the culturally significant Houbara bustard! Explore the unique challenges facing these creatures, from habitat loss to the impacts of climate change!
Learn about the diverse range of conservation programs and initiatives dedicated to safeguarding these species and the invaluable role of local organizations in these efforts.
ABOUT THE SERIES
This session is also part of a 10-session series, where you will explore the rich tapestry of life unique to the UAE, from the expansive desert sands to the hidden oases, freshwater habitats, and coastal regions, while understanding the intricate link between biodiversity and climate change!
Through expert-led discussions, you'll gain a deep understanding of the importance of biodiversity conservation, sustainable stewardship practices, and their role in mitigating climate change and preserving the UAE's natural heritage.
By attending a total of 7 sessions, you will receive a certificate of completion, recognizing your commitment to environmental education and conservation efforts in the region!
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
This session will be led by: Dr. Andrew Gardner FLS - Associate Director of Biodiversity Conservation, Emirates Nature–WWF
Dr. Andrew is a zoologist and ecologist with a life-long passion for conserving wild places and the species with which we share our planet.
